Curriculum
Our curriculum follows the Thai Government's curriculum guidelines, while incorporating aspects of other international education systems. We are continually updating and developing the curriculum and teaching methodologies, as well as resources, used in the classroom. English is the primary medium of instruction for Math, Science, English, Physical education, Art, Information and Communication Technology, and Music.
The Thai language is used for Thai language, Thai social studies and culture, and moral training. This unique combination provides students with knowledge and experience for effective reading, writing, listening, and speaking, while maintaining their Thai language skills and heritage. Students emerge from the program equally proficient in both Thai and English languages.
We are closely monitored to insure quality by the Thai Ministry of Education. Students who complete the program possess the skills to further their study at various institutions, including international schools, Thai High schools, and High schools abroad. Our curriculum prepares students to eventually enter standard or English-based programs of university in Thailand or abroad.
General Education
GES currently offers an education for children ranging from pre-school to grade 12. We believe education is important in all stages of development from the formative years through adolescence. Beginning with Kindergarten 1, 2, and 3, GES students between the ages of 2 and 5 years enjoy a curriculum that nurtures children and equips them with the skills they will need to succeed in the classroom and on the playground. Kindergarten students develop early social, academic, and language skills through a curriculum that includes play time activities, math and English instruction, as well as exposure to the arts. As students move from kindergarten into primary (Grades 1- 6) and secondary (Grade 7-12) school they enter a curriculum that is made up of five core subjects, which are English, Mathematics, Science, Thai language, and Thai social studies. Students also continue to receive instruction in Information and Communication Technology, Geography, Physical Education, Music, Health Education, Moral Training, and Art throughout their years at GES.
English Language Education
One of the key elements of GES curriculum is its dedication to providing English instruction through American curriculum. GES seeks to meet the needs of students who enter their studies at various levels of English proficiency by providing specialized instruction for students who need additional assistance. English Language Workshop is a 3 hour a week course in which these students receive specialized instruction in reading, writing, listening, speaking in a small group setting with an English language instructor. Students are also given the opportunity to increase their understanding in content areas with the help of an English instructor for specialized time in the morning before school in Content Area Support (CAS). As GES seeks to provide students with the opportunity to learn English regardless of their previous experience in the language, we make efforts to fill the gap in proficiency by continually developing these specialized instruction programs with the help dedicated English language instructors.
Spiritual Education
A unique element of the curriculum at GES is the inclusion of spiritual principles throughout. A priority at GES is to equip students with moral training they need to become valuable citizens in the future. Through weekly services, daily devotional times, and integrated instruction, GES students are exposed to Christian principals which help shape their minds and hearts in a way that will allow children to reach social, emotional, and spiritual maturity.
